Take Health to Heart: The Urgency to Treat Black Americans with Cardiovascular Disease

While cardiovascular disease (CVD) continues to be a longstanding health concern impacting all segments of the American population, Black Americans face disparities in CVD risk factors, prevalence, and mortality, as shaped by access to care and social determinants of health. These challenges can contribute to poor health outcomes and early death. Solutions require various stakeholders that include policymakers and providers working together to reduce the burden of CVD in Black Americans.
